Floating through emo, rap, alternative and metal, Sydney born artist YvngNxmd finds comfort in the spaces between. Growing up on legacy acts of the 90s and 00s like Linkin Park, Eminem, Slipknot, Ice Cube and others of the era, while also “coming of age” through the soundcloud era, NXMD pulls from all directions to form a new yet familiar sound in his music. Although only releasing his first song on soundcloud at the end of 2018, NXMD has been making music for close to a decade, weather that’s making songs about a boat in the bath tub as a child, or attempting to start his first band in early highschool. It wouldn’t take long for NXMD to find his sound as less than 2 years after his first release online he would release the song “Somehow” (featured as the final song on Nxmds first studio album ‘Never, Forever.’ In 2022, and received a brief shoutout from the artist nothing, nowhere. (One of Nxmds all time favourite artists) On his live stream on 21/10/21) which would mark the beginning of him actually taking music seriously. As of 03/2024 NXMD has released over 100 songs, crossing multiple genres and collaborating with a range of artists and producers from all over the world, most notably being his collab song ‘Heart Attack’ with California artist xxxLacuna off of Nxmds most recent mixtape ‘SleepWalking’. As of now Nxmd is at work in the studio working on new music as always so keep an eye out on Instagram for any updates or announcements.
